Notes

The Hunsruck Slate is famous for its preservation of crinoids, brittlestars, starfish, carpoids, phylocarids, marrellomorphs, sea spiders, and even a few fish. But some trilobites also got preserved in that formation. The most common of these is the Phacopid Chotecops fernandi, but other species are occasionally found. I don't know how frequently species in the genus Asteropyge are preserved in the Hunsruck Slate, but I bought the only example I ever saw.

The trilobite is centered on a large plate of slate. Some eye lenses are preserved in the left eye and more are preserved in the right eye.
