There seems to be a bit of controversy over whether this belongs in the genus Kettneraspis or Leonaspis, but the paper describing this bug sides with Kettneraspis.
In addition to the prominent genal, pleural, and pygidal spines that are found on all Leonaspis and Kettneraspis trilobites, there are rows of vertical very short, very thin spines running along each side of the thorax. But the most prominent feature that defines this species is the stout and curved occipital spine.
