Like many Moroccan trilobites this is named after a very similar European trilobite, and may or may not be the same species. You will often see the claim that the pits along the rim of the head of Trinucleidae trilobites were used in filter feeding. The problem is that the pits don't go all the way through the shell, so they couldn't have filtered anything. More likely the pits served a sensory function.
